Atlanta, Texas is a small city located in Cass County, Texas roughly ten miles from the Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana border. Founded in 1871, Atlanta began to grow rapidly, as most newly established towns do, when a railroad was constructed through the city. Then, in the mid-1930’s, oil was discovered in Cass County and Atlanta began a new era of prosperity.
